Neel 47 – 2020 – Massively reinforced, Exceptional Condition, Ready for Bluewater Cruising
Quite possibly the most accomplished Neel 47 currently on the market, superbly equipped, reinforced, and optimized by its sole owner. Launched in La Rochelle in 2020 with numerous factory options, it was designed from the outset for long-distance sailing as a couple in complete autonomy. After three Atlantic crossings, one Pacific crossing and two full seasons in the remotest places in Vanuatu, she’s now offered for sale at a highly competitive price – fully ready to continue a world tour without any additional expense.
The sail inventory is extensive and perfectly balanced, with a Hydranet mainsail, genoa, and solent by Incidence, maintained 2025 in New Zealand by a professional sailmaker, complemented by an asymmetric spinnaker, two Wingakers, and a gennaker, ensuring performance on all points of sail and in all wind conditions. Both standing and running rigging were renewed in April 2025. The deck layout has been carefully optimized with additional clutches, new anchor points, a Dyneema self-tacking system, and reinforced areas under the cleats, deck, and winches, all designed to simplify handling and further enhance performance.
Energy autonomy is outstanding, provided by customized 2,500 W of Solbian FLX walkable solar panels installed in 2025, two high-output alternators, and 1,200 Ah of Mastervolt lithium batteries. Over the last close to six years of cruising, only three gas bottles have been consumed, with diesel heating providing comfort during stays like in New Zealand. Nothing was left to chance: custom-made guardrails and handholds and raised dinghy chocks. The built-in glass roof panel gives improved visibility from the saloon, including a clear view of the sails and an optional second forward hatch increased airflow.
In 2024, the yacht underwent a full three-month refit at the prestigious Orams Superyacht shipyard in Auckland. Electrical and plumbing systems were replaced and upgraded with superior-quality components. Bulkheads, chainplates and structural relevant areas were stripped and massively reinforced with at least six layers of fiberglass, while composite beams were added beneath the deck for additional stiffness and safety.
For navigation and communication, the boat is fitted with the latest B&G electronics, two fully independent autopilots, radar, AIS, two Starlink generation V2 and Mini, an Iridium Go, and a Garmin Reach. The main Hypalon dinghy, powered by a 20 hp Honda outboard, is ideal for diving and long-range exploration, while a secondary dinghy with an electric outboard is perfect for short trips or where landing requires to carry the dinghy out of sea.
All safety equipment is up to date, including a 2025 life raft, automatic lifejackets, personal EPIRBs, multiple fire detectors and extinguishers and high-capacity bilge pumps and even a drogue anchor for extreme offshore conditions. At anchor, peace of mind is ensured by a 35 kg stainless steel Ultra anchor with 80 m certfied Waelder Cromox Duplex chain, complemented by a Lofrans X2 1,500 W windlass installed in 2024.
New 2025 engine starter and bow thruster batteries. Large set of all relevant tools and spare parts such as starter motor, folding prop, pumps, MDI, alternator etc.
Life on board is particularly comfortable: a luxurious owner’s cabin with a brand-new Tempur mattress, a bright and spacious saloon with a large TV and seamless access to the cockpit, which is fully protected by transparent enclosures, plus a new washing machine and a reliable watermaker.
This Neel 47 stands out for its exceptional condition, meticulous maintenance, and outstanding equipment. Ideally located in the South Pacific, it represents a unique opportunity for anyone wishing to embark immediately on long-distance cruising in total safety, autonomy, and comfort.
