Catana 401 — Owner’s version, 2 cabins

An exceptional catamaran, this Catana 401 stands out with a unique modification: its sterns have been extended by professionals and approved by the French Maritime Authority, resulting in improved wave clearance, greater comfort at sea and a significantly increased load capacity.

Reinforced from the outset with carbon fibre and kevlar combined with vinylester resin, it offers exceptional longevity and outstanding durability. Carbon daggerboards, mast and davits, fine hulls and controlled weight give it remarkable upwind performance and the ability to sail even in light winds. It was designed for fast ocean crossings with a reduced crew.

On the equipment side, the boat has been largely renewed: new rigging in 2022, new sails in 2024, Nanni engines with very low hours and new saildrives in 2026. Energy autonomy is provided by solar panels, batteries and MPPT charge controllers. The 3.10 m dinghy and its 15 hp outboard were also replaced in 2024.

All that remains is to update the safety equipment and electronic instruments to have a high-performance catamaran ready to take on any ocean.
