Built in 1985 by Currubin Marine (Australia)
OASIS was built in 1985 by the yard’s head shipwright at Currubin Marine, for his own use as a
retirement boat. After cruising the South Pacific out of Australia, she made her way to New
Caledonia in 2010, where she has remained ever since.
Built for Blue-Water Passages
OASIS was designed from the outset as a long-range fishing vessel, built to one uncompromising
standard: strength and reliability, whatever the sea threw at her. Drawing on his own experience as a
shipbuilder, her designer chose a full-aluminium hull, 53ft LOA — a decision that has paid off in
rugged, long-lasting construction.
• Hull: forward third 10mm aluminium plate, remaining two-thirds 6mm
• Structure and framing: 10mm aluminium throughout

• Solid one-piece keel, protecting shafts and propellers

The powertrain follows the same philosophy: rugged and dependable above all.
• Twin Scania H24 V8 turbo diesels, 380hp each
• Low-maintenance: service intervals every 500 hours
• Centrifugal oil cleaner and bronze impeller
• Stainless steel propeller shafts, 80mm diameter
• ONAN 15kVA 4-cylinder generator
Safety and Fit-Out
The boat runs fully electric, with no gas installation aboard, removing that particular fire risk
altogether.
• Fire detectors and a fire alarm control panel
• CO2 fixed fire-suppression system for the engine room
• Deck wash-down system with hose runs long enough to reach and clean the entire hull
• 6m³ cold room / freezer — for provisions, the catch, or simply extra stowage
