This Custom Next 56 is an exceptional vessel, built and designed by an exceptional team.
Simonis & Voogd was in charge of the design, Custom Yachts in Auckland of the construction and Bruno Troublé, former skipper and director of the mythic Americas Cup, as a project manager and final client.

The hull and the deck are built in vacuum bagged sandwich Airex epoxy. The furniture, the beams and stringers are glassed into the hull for an absolute rigidity. There’re no creaks or cracks under sail or at anchor. The interior surfaces are faired and painted by hand, a lengthy and very expensive method but with several advantages; the lack of linings is a weight saver and can’t hide any construction defects or possible water leaks. They are cleaned and maintained more easily.

The choice of equipment and deck layout comes from the client’s expertise in world-class regatta competitions and also as an ocean sailor with limited crew. Twin rudders, lifting keel, the possibility to tune the ROD rigging, replaced in 2019, by a central hydraulic station, the running rigging is in Dyneema, the sails in Hydranet, the genoa furler is electric, 1000l of ballast…and the list goes on.

The comfort and beauty on board are not forgotten with the deck covered in true Burman teak. The hull is painted with Awlgrip, the twin helms opens up the cockpit and the folding transom allows easy access to the dingy, which is stored in a dedicated garage on long passages or on the removable davits during shorter passages. The windows are reinforced, the tanks centred at the mast base to reduce rocking movements. The integrated LED lights in the canoe boom gives light in the cockpit.

Down below is a large centre lined galley at starboard with plentiful storage and countertops, twin fridges and a freezer. The raised salon is in between the galley and the cockpit which improves all around visibility, a chart table equipped with high end and recent electronics. A water maker, an air-condition in each cabin, a genset and the solar panels are charging the LiFePO4 bank. The Yanmar 100hp, mounted with a Gori propeller, allows high speed and a reduced fuel consumption.

This vessel is in a stunning condition and will satisfy any demanding sailor.

Located in New Caledonia for an immediate departure in the South Pacific.
