Dufour 44 Performance Carbon one off!

While built under supervision by Dufour Yachts shipyard, with the twin goal of fast cruising and off-shore races like Sydney-Hobart, this vessel was reinforced during her construction with several layers of Kevlar and carbon fibres infused into the hull.

The bow, the hull sides, the chain plates, the rudder post as well as the hull bottom were reinforced, an additional aft bulkhead was added and the keel wing was glassed into the hull to assure an exceptional rigidity and solidity.

The keel was custom designed by Backwell & White in New Zealand and with her 3600kg bulb she’s very stiff and sails to windward like a dream. The rudder, equally custom designed with a carbon stock and carbon helm, gives the boat a perfect balance and feedback even in harsh conditions and high speed.

The spars, again in carbon, were built by the renowed manufacturer Lorima and carries high quality sails togheter with deck wear from Harken and a carbon genoa furler from Reckman. The standing rigging is in ROD and the running rigging in Dyneema, all recent and in perfect condition.

The pleasure and strong sensations under sail are guaranteed.

Her interior, warm and very functional for long term live aboard, has a classic finish and built with Airex and laminated wood to gain weight and optimize the weight distribution. The boat offers a forward owner cabin, twin aft double cabins, two heads and lots of storage.

She’s totally self-sufficient thanks to her water maker, solar panels and LiFePO4 batteries. Maintaned constantly to the highest standards and even the most demanding sailor will not need to choce between regatta and cruising.
